Bridge between Germany and Serbia
Our association helps from Saxony!
Our association is located in the beautiful Müglitztal - in the "Valley of Time" and has made friends all over Germany and even in Serbia. Our headquarters, where all organizational matters are managed, is in Saxony. Donations are accepted here and from here we also start our donation trips to Serbia. We receive our protégés here as a collection point and hand them over safely into the hands of their families. The Müglitztal is the hub from which everything that comes up in the association's work is directed. We will introduce you to what we do and the goals we are pursuing.
Get involved with the club
Your support can be varied!
Everyone can help make the world a little better. You can get involved in our association passively or actively. We will introduce you to our projects and opportunities and would be delighted if the support for our Serbian dogs grows with you. Donations are an indispensable tool in animal welfare, because the balance in your account often determines how much help we give to the Serbian dogs. Get involved in our association and make us stronger for the dogs in Serbia. It is important to us that you do it with joy.
Adopt happiness & change lives
Find your missing puzzle piece with us!
Adopting a dog doesn't just change the dog's world, it changes yours too. The decision for a new family member has been made and perhaps the search ends here with our Serbian rescue dogs and one of them jumps straight into your heart. On the website we explain everything about the topic: the adoption process, the adoption fee and we introduce you to our dogs individually. Important: We have no age limit and also adopt dogs for seniors. We believe that you should have a plan B in every situation. We have put together our experiences in our guide.
About Us
We at MEDA eV - Rescue Shelter Šabac are particularly dedicated to actively supporting the Serbian animal rights activist Aleksandar Stanojlović and his non-profit organization MEDA - Udruženje za zaštitu životinja in the city of Šabac. He runs a private shelter where he takes in homeless, abused dogs and nurses them back to health. He tries to find good homes for the dogs in his own country with a protection contract. In addition, he does educational work among the population, speaks at schools about animal welfare, takes care of feeding street dogs at feeding stations, provides them with medical care against parasites and vaccinates the dogs against infectious diseases.
As an animal protection association, we want to improve the living conditions of dogs in the city of Šabac by supporting the animal welfare worker financially in order to be able to ensure medical care, preventive vaccinations, castrations and food supplies, as well as to finance the renovation of the animal shelter through donations. In addition to this, as an association we support the animal protection work on site so that the Serbian organization can educate the population about species-appropriate animal husbandry and animal protection.
Our biggest goal is to implement a castration project in the region to reduce the number of street dogs.
